If I were eating lunch with Albert Einstein, I would ask him what inspired you to be so interested in math and science, if you ask questions do you learn more, what made you be a scientest, could you ever ask too many questions?,
Owl Pellets
Owl pellets are created by an owl regurgitating the fur and bones of the organism it ate which forms a pellet. The owl only digests the meat of the animal.Owl pellets are not the waste product because before the owl regurgitates the pellet, the pellet is stored in a special stomach for about 6-8 hours. As I was dissecting my owl pellet I was looking for types of bones to find out what animal an owl ate. The most common organism that was found in the owl pellets was the meadow vole (field mouse). That tells us that the owl's diet is mostly the meadow vole, but they eat other animals too. I found two skeletons in my owl pellet because the owl didn't eat just one animal it ate two. The habitat of my animal would probably be a grassy field or a meadow because I had a meadow vole. I think the habitat of the vole and owl overlap because they are all in the same ecosystem and biosphere which is Earth. The owl community would also decrease if the rodent population decreased because the owls feed on the rodents, and that is their main source of food. The apex predator is the top animal on a food chain. I think the apex predator is good and bad. It is good because it gets rid of over populated animals, and animals that are harmful to other organisms such as people. I also think it is a little bad because the apex predator could eat too many of an organism and make it endangered or even extinct! Also, it could get rid of a species of an organism that might be a helpful or useful such as insects. I hope the barn owls don't get endangered or even extinct!
Interesting facts about barn owls
They live in every continent except Antarctica
They are 14 in. tall
They weigh 20 oz.
Their wing span is 44 in. that is almost 4 feet
The females are larger
A barn owl's eggs are layed about two days apart
They use their owl pellets for a nest
It takes about 75 days for a young owl to leave its nest
The average life span is 3 years, but it could be 1
